Suva City Council hosted a meeting with Fiji Police to put plans in place amid Covid-19 restrictions. Here are a few strategies that may come into play:
- proper entry and exit points around high traffic areas identified, namely Suva Municipal Market and Suva Bus Station
- controlled foot traffic and movement of people coming in and out of Suva
- social distancing of 2m, especially for market vendors
- masks and gloves to be made compulsory for those entering the market
- registry of people in and out of Suva to assist with contact tracing should the need arise
- no loitering or unnecessary movement
The Council and Police Force will hold briefings on a daily basis to align and strategize plans for a safer Suva. We encourage you to be safe and adhere to all restrictions put into place.
