The Suva City Council is urging residents of Browning Street in Raiwaqa to take ownership of their community by disposing of rubbish in the appropriate bins at the scheduled pickup times.
This comes after the SCC quick response team visited the area yesterday to clear one of the main dumping spots which has been accumulating for months. The Councils recent clearance efforts were neglected after residents persisted to dump rubbish illegally at these same spot, prompting the Council to enforce fines to residents who are seen violating of the Litter Act 2018.
Also visiting the site yesterday was the Minister of Local Government Hon. Maciu Katamotu Nalumisa & Suva City Council Chair of Special Administrators, Mr Tevita Boseiwaqa who witnessed this firsthand.
The Council is appealing to members of the public to work together to keep Suva clean and maintain their Civic pride.
