September 30, 2024The Suva City Council (SCC) had formalized a strategic partnership with the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited (FPCL) yesterday by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The agreement sets a framework to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as investment and the arrival of cruise ships.
Suva City Council Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Tevita Boseiwaqa highlighted the importance of this partnership particularly in promoting Tourism in the city and the whole country.
Mr Boseiwaqa shared that this can only be achieved through collaboration, coordination and communication within the two institutions and other key stakeholders like the Fiji Police Force.
“By working hand-in-hand with FPCL, the Council will ensure that tourists enjoy both the beauty of Suva city and its landscapes. Both organizations share a commitment to fostering progress, and by supporting each other’s goals, we will be able to achieve that,” Mr Boseiwaqa said.
From this partnership, the Council expects to see an improvement in infrastructure, cleanliness and tourism related services in Suva City.
